Modern Methods of Construction | Building Technologies Series

December 3 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

The Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) sector is undergoing a rapid transition toward automated, off-site and industrialized building practices. As part of the joint SSRIA & ENBIX Building Technology Webinar Series, this session explores Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and its potential role in advancing high-performance, low-carbon building delivery.

Traditional job sites face rising labor shortages, material inefficiency, weather delays and quality control constraints. Modern Methods of Construction present a transformative path forward for current construction industry challenges but how do we ensure we don’t lose this opportunity to improve building envelope performance, reduce embodied carbon and accelerate timelines.

Join our expert panel as we examine three distinct modern methods of construction pillars: small-scale mobile robotic factories, high-performance panelization and large-scale factory-built volumetric construction. The discussion will dive into practical applications, real-world case studies, and the core barriers to scaling these technologies across Western Canada.
