SUMMARY:Retrofit Roadmap Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Deep retrofits are essential to reaching net-zero\, but they remain complex\, costly\, and difficult to coordinate. Retrofit Canada’s Retrofit Roadmap aims to change that. \nIn this webinar\, Peter Amerongen will walk participants through the Retrofit Roadmap: a practical\, end-to-end guide designed to help project teams plan\, sequence\, and deliver deep retrofits more effectively. Rather than focusing on isolated upgrades\, the roadmap emphasizes whole-building thinking and long-term planning to avoid expensive mistakes\, missed opportunities\, and locked in long term emissions. The Retrofit Roadmap is based on deep experience designing and building successful deep retrofits. It supports homeowners\, building owners\, energy advisors\, contractors\, designers\, and policymakers in making informed decisions across the full retrofit journey. It helps users align short-term actions with long-term goals\, coordinate upgrades at the right time\, and prioritize measures that improve comfort\, indoor air quality\, energy performance\, and lifecycle value. \nHosted by ENBIX and Retrofit Canada\, this session will highlight how better planning and sequencing can unlock healthier buildings\, lower operating costs\, and stronger outcomes on the path to net-zero. \nLearn more about the Retrofit Roadmap at retrofitcanada.com/learn.

SUMMARY:Material Carbon Emissions Estimator (MCE2) Training
DESCRIPTION:MCE2 is designed for Canada’s home building industry. It quantifies the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with specific low-rise\, residential building designs by providing two important estimates: \n\nThe GHG emissions associated with manufacturing required building materials\nThe estimated GHG emissions from operating the home (calculated using results from a HOT2000 energy model)\n\nTogether\, these results predict the overall GHG impact on the climate of a new home or renovation (its carbon use intensity\, or CUI) and provides industry with insights for reduction opportunities. \nThis free training is offered as part of Alberta Ecotrust Foundation’s “Getting to Zero Research Program”. \nIn order to be eligible for this training\, the majority of your work must take place in Alberta. \nMCE2 Training Dates: \n\nApril 13th 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM MST & April 14th 1:00 PM – 3:30 MST\n\n*Please note you will need to attend and complete both sessions on April 13th & April 14th. SUMMARY:Earth Tubes\, On Site Monitoring and Costing Results
DESCRIPTION:This presentation will be similar to the Passive House Canada (PHC) Pulse talk\, with the addition of cost analysis for the electric preheat option. It will include on-site monitoring results and evaluate earth tubes against electric resistance heat.  Using measured energy use and typical electricity rates\, the presentation will look at annual operating costs and a simple payback to understand how many years it takes for the earth tube system to become cost-effective. The presentation will also highlight the free cooling aspect of earth tubes\, which may be where they provide the most value.
